Jailbreakme – Program Malfunctioning

Jailbreakme is a new page by Comex which allows cell phone users to “jailbreak” their phone by hacking their own operating system. The purpose for this is to enable applications and programs that are usually not made available by the company that manufactured your phone. Typically jailbreaking is done on Apple’s products.

Comex released a jailbreak for the iPhone 4, but it stopped working briefly because of server issues. Jailbreaking is now legal thanks to the Library of Congress’ recent ruling that allows users to legally hack their own possessions. However, any warranties you have with your service provider or manufacturer may be voided through jailbreaking, so if anything happens to your phone, you’re out of luck.
